Most people seem to have thousands of movies and hundreds of shows, taking up an average of like 5gb or less per file. The thing that always surprises me when reading about people's Plex setup are not the number of files they have, which are usually very large, but the size of those files. It's via enterprise cloud storage, unlimited, and costs under $20 USD a month to utilize.Google is your friend, and don't give in to the FEAR mongoring you may stumble upon. I will not disclose the specifics of where I store my media (NO ONE SHOULD ON HERE LOL), but obvisouly it's not on the server itself lol. My main media server running plex is on a Hetzner EX62-NVMe: and to answer the obvious.OF COURSE I don't need all this crap, but I'm a /r/datahoarder. Not knocking anyone that does, I actually praise their ability to help people lol. I'm a data engineer by day, so the last thing I want is to handle IT for shared accounts or something. To clarify, the media server itself is suprisingly only for my own personal usage lmfao. I have an account on virtual every private indexer out there, so that helps a ton for some of the more old obscure shit.
